So for (most of) the month of November, I decided I was going to knit a hat every day. The hats I am knitting are all my own designs, which has so far been super fun! This was my first “Hat-a-Day” effort, I hope you enjoy it!

Stonewash Slouch

Materials:

1 ball Diamond Select Stonewash (60% Acrylic, 25% Cotton, 15% Wool, 100g/165m), 5.5mm 40cm circular needle, 6.5mm 40cm circular needle, 6.5mm DPNs (These needle sizes make a larger hat.  If you have a smaller head, go down a size)

Gauge:

14 st = 10cm in stockinette on larger needles.

Directions:

On 5.5 mm needles, cast on 66 stitches.  Place marker and join to work in the round.

Work in 1×1 rib for 8 rounds. Switch to 6.5 mm needle.

Set up round: *K11, m1*, repeat from *to * to end of round.

Round 1-3: knit Round 4: *k4, yo, k2tog, k3*, repeat from *to * to end of round.

Rounds 5-8: knit

Round 9: *yo, k2tog, k7*, repeat from * to* to end of round

Round 10: knit

Repeat rounds 1-10 twice more

Decrease Section:

Switch to DPNs

Round 1: *k7, k2tog* to end of round

Round 2: knit Round 3: *k6, k2tog* to end of row

Round 4: *yo, k2tog, k5* to end of row

Round 5: *k5, k2tog* to end of row

Round 6: knit

Round 7: *k4, k2tog* to end of row

Round 8: knit

Round 9: *k3, k2tog* to end of row

Round 10: knit

Round 11: *k2, k2tog* to end of row

Round 12: knit

Round 13: *k1, k2tog* to end of row

Round 14: knit

Round 15: k2tog to end of row.

Break yarn and use a needle to pull tail through all remaining stitches on the needles twice.  Pull tight.  Weave in all ends, block lightly.
